Dry Needling
Dry Needling is a modern, science-based intervention used in the practice of physical therapy to treat myofascial, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of neuromuscular pain and movement dysfunction.
Dry needling involves inserting a thin, monofilament needle without medication into myofascial trigger points, tight muscles, or connective tissues that may be causing pain, decreased mobility, and/or muscle weakness. The purpose is to stimulate a healing response for painful musculoskeletal conditions.
Dry needling is not acupuncture. It does not have the purpose of altering the flow of energy (“Qi) along traditional Chinese meridians for the treatment of diseases.
